It’s the holiday season and we wanted to share a story of generosity that was reported by KARE 11 news. A man with cerebral palsy in Minnesota has been honored by a charity for his generosity.
Josh Beadell works at Walmart as a greeter and as a self-check out host. Last winter, he signed up to be part of the local Christmas for Kids charity as a Santa’s Little Helper. The charity brings toys to children. A friend of his mother was seeking help and he volunteered.
Last year, he purchased $1000 worth of toys for the program. They were amazed at the amount. But this year, he saved up $2000 and donated it to the organization.
To show their appreciation, the organization made a trophy for Josh and presented it to him at work. He deeply appreciated the award. Video of the surprise can be found at the link above. The video went viral and that’s how the media picked up on the story.
People with disabilities can be among the most generous out there because their condition gives them great compassion for others who are suffering. There are lots of ways that you can donate this year to help others. Consider giving a charitable donation yourself this holiday season.
