A picture of a toddler with cerebral palsy has gone viral and reported by national news media when his parents dressed him up for Halloween as a character from the movie “Up”.
CBS News has the images and the story. Brantley Morse, from Akron, Ohio, was dressed up as the character Carl from “Up”, the old man in the movie. In the movie, Carl use a walker to get around. Brantley also uses a walker of a different kind to manage his cerebral palsy.
The toddler was born four months-premature and had numerous health issues. He spent the first six months of his life in an NICU battling kidney disease, gastroparesis, and other serious conditions.
For Halloween, his parents found him a suit, bow-tie, and glasses like the character in the movie. After tying balloons to his walker, the image was complete.
We commend the parents for finding such a creative costume idea for their toddler. Many children with disabilities do not get to participate in Halloween activities due to their condition. But this story shows that if you have some creativity then you can still have fun for the holiday season.
We hope that Brantley has fun and that his condition continues to improve.
